White Scar Cave – 17.2 miles
White Scar Cave is deep beneath Ingleborough Hill, in the Yorkshire Dales National park. Here lies a hidden world which has been sculpted by nature over thousands of years. Subterranean landscape, lit with gushing streams and waterfalls, stunning cave formations, and a vast ice age cavern decked out with thousands of stalactites.
The tour will begin near the original entrance found in 1923. You will be shown the Devil’s Tongue, The Arum Lily, the Judge’s Head and many other cave formations. The highlight of the tour is the 200,000 year old Battlefield Cavern.
White Scar Cave is open daily from 10am February to October. Weekends only in November to January (weather permitting). Last tour is 4pm. The tour rakes approximately 80 minutes and covers about a mile. Please bring warm clothing and appropriate footwear.
Prices are Adults - £7.95, Child (3-15 years) - £4.95 and a Family (2 adults and 2 children) - £22.00.
